Mentorship
The LatinXinBME Mentorship Program is a structured, nine-month initiative designed to support early-stage graduate students in biomedical engineering through intentional, monthly mentor–mentee meetings. Each month focuses on a key theme and seeks to develop specific skills, e.g., belonging and imposter syndrome, work–life balance in grad school, networking and career development, and leadership, and are supported by curated agendas and culturally grounded discussion prompts.
The program emphasizes authentic relationship-building, professional growth, and connections within our LatinX in BME community. For early graduate students, participating offers access to personalized guidance from experienced mentors, increased clarity around career paths, strengthened confidence and sense of belonging, practical strategies for wellness and networking, and the opportunity to build lasting professional connections within a supportive Latinx scientific community.
Our next cohort is set to start in January 2027, with applications to open in late October/early November 2026. In the meantime, you are welcome to send any questions to mentorship@latinxinbme.com.
